Asahi Kasei Project Eagle Port Colborne, ON, Canada
Description
Hodess contributed to the buildout of a lithium-ion battery separator manufacturing facility, taking on the interior cleanroom fit-out for Phase 1 of Asahi Kasei’s larger three-phase investment under a design-assist delivery approach. Upon completion, the plant is expected to produce enough separator material to support roughly one million electric vehicles per year.
Work covered 27,000 sf of ISO 8 cleanroom space in addition to two Clean Not Classified (CNC) zones, bringing the total project scope to 50,000 sf. Hodess handled the supply and installation of interior insulated metal panels (IMP) and ceiling systems across both the classified and CNC spaces, and was responsible for providing, installing, and commissioning 32 air showers in a range of sizes and configurations.
Design coordination was carried out entirely in Revit, integrated directly into the client’s central BIM model to keep the work aligned across the facility’s ongoing multi-phase expansion.
